Manhattan Real Estate Market Update: March 24, 2025
Tarrifs and eggs and recessions - oh my. Every day the media is feeding us negative information about our economy. Markets hate uncertainty, but it seems we've had nothing but uncertainty over the last few years. Is uncertainty the new norm?
Despite this, the Manhattan real estate market seems to be moving along quite well. Over the last two weeks there was a significant uptick in new listings (see the chart below). Signed contract activity is proceding at an "average" to "above average" pace.
Last week 284 contracts were signed, up 18% from the week before. It was the highest weekly amount since 2023. The luxury and new development markets remain particularly robust. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but all signs are pointing to a healthy and active spring market.
