Holiday Slowdown? Not in The NYC Real Estate Market
The holidays still haven't slowed down the New York City real estate market. Last week 331 contracts were signed. That's the kind of number we'd normally see in June!
If you're a potential seller, this is your time. Pending sales are up 45.6% year-to-date and 60.3% over Dec. 2020. Those numbers could be even higher if there were enough new homes coming on the market to meet current demand (believe us, we have first-hand knowledge from both the buyer and seller perspective).
As for prices, the average discount from the asking price for closed sales is just 3.8%. That's positive news for buyers as well, because it demonstrates that prices aren't getting bid up into the stratosphere.
