Transforming an Apartment, Transforming a Life

Some sales mean even more to us than others. Yesterday was the closing of our listing at 2 5th Ave., apt. 14C. The seller lived there over fifty years and was moving into assisted living. We were contacted by his long-time attorney and friend to sell the property, quickly and for a good price so he’d be able to afford the care he needed.

Unfortunately, the apartment had been neglected for many years (the first photo below gives you an idea). Still, it had great bones - high ceilings, lots of light, a terrace and beautiful views. We rallied our team and got to work.

That team included JunkLuggers (we filled two trucks), art and furniture appraisers, contractors, painters, floor refinishers, electricians, exterminators, stagers, house cleaners, and more. As you can see from the second photo, it was a total transformation.

We oversaw the photography and listing launch while on a long-planned European cruise. This was a powerful exercise in letting go. A few weeks later, we secured an offer from qualified buyers who are thrilled with their new home.

The best part? Our client's trust, gratitude, and respect. The feeling is mutual. We're looking forward to our celebratory dinner together!
