Wegmans Astor Place Opens Today

Wegmans Astor Place supermarket in Greenwich Village opened this morning at 9 AM, and it's even bigger and better than we expected. The combination of product, price, service, and experience is a winner.

At 87,500 sq. ft., they're more than able to accommodate the crowd of excited shoppers today. Smiling, well-trained staff are there to answer questions and keep things moving. The ground floor features Wegmans' justly famous prepared foods; while downstairs, you'll find produce, meats, seafood, dairy, packaged goods, and some surprises (the Japanese seafood counter, Sakanaya, above).

We came home laden with more than we intended, but we're not used to so many options in our daily grocery shopping!
