Bread Story Bakery in Stuy Town

If we're in the vicinity of Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village, it's usually for a medical appointment or because someone's in the hospital. It's certainly not because we're in search of artisanal craft baking. That could change, now that we've visited Bread Story.

Bread Story is the baby of Yann Ledoux, who was Head Baker for Maison Kaiser for eight years. This French bakery serves a wide variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, sandwiches, and - yes - breads, all prepared in the glassed-in kitchen at the rear of the shop.

This morning we enjoyed one of their flaky, buttery croissants with a coffee; but couldn't leave without having a White Chocolate Pistachio Cookie. It was an excellent call. We'll definitely be getting to Stuy Town a bit more in the future.
