Supermoon Bakehouse: See the pie above? The chocolate short crust base, pumpkin spice caramel, roasted pumpkin mousse, and assorted chocolate, meringue, caramel, and pepita toppings make it look and taste like no other pumpkin pie you or your guests have ever eaten. Lower East Side.

Salt & Straw: The two NYC branches of this national ice cream chain feature some inspired limited edition flavors this month. Pumpkin Pie Spiced Tiramisu is a no-brainer; but don't miss Turkey Stuffing with Cranberry Sauce (and savory bits of turkey sausage!), Parker House Rolls with Salted Buttercream, and Sweet Potato Casserole. You'll be shocked by how much you enjoy them. West Village, Upper West Side.

Sugar Sweet Sunshine: This 21 year old stalwart sells some pretty fabulous puddings. One of our favorites is called The Nog: layers of moist pumpkin cake, eggnog pudding, and whipped cream, with a dash of nutmeg and clove. They've also got tasty Pumpkin Cupcakes with cream cheese icing and a walnut garnish. Lower East Side.

Rice to Riches: This shop only sells rice pudding, in a vast roster of rotating flavors. The Secret Life of Pumpkin is made with the same flavors and seasonings as a traditional Thanksgiving pie: pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg ginger, clove, and brown sugar. Soho, Lower East Side.

Petee's Pies: Finally, if you're still set on serving a pumpkin pie, try the one from Petee's. Petee's roasts a variety of locally grown pumpkins and winter squashes to create their rich, dark brown (not orange) filling. Lower East Side, Hell's Kitchen, Clinton Hill.
