The Brooklyn Market: Increased Opportunities for Buyers
The number of Brooklyn listings has been ticking up, which is not what we normally see as we head into summer. At the same time, pending sales have remained pretty flat over the last couple of weeks. You know what that means? Increased opportunities for Brooklyn buyers.
We're not saying that they'll get a major deal, just that they'll have less competition and more homes to choose from. This is still a sellers' market, though maybe a red hot one instead of white hot.
The discount from the last asking price for closed sales is 1.2%, and 1.7% from the original.
It's a combination of high demand and pricing to market. As in Manhattan (and everywhere), if a home isn't selling when people are buying, it's time for sellers to revisit their pricing strategy.
